This past week was what I would consider a "lazy week." I worked on some custom orders, cut some fabric, and made some of my packaging supplies.
One of those packaging supplies is fabric ribbon. I've been saving my scraps of fabric since I started sewing, knowing that one day I would come up with something to make out of them. A few months ago I was reading Zakka Style and saw her idea for "patchwork ribbon" and thought it would be a perfect solution to my growning pile of scraps.
Saturday I decided I was going to sew all my scrap pile into ribbon and that way I would have enough to get me through Christmas. So, I sat down with my iPad and a speaker, turned on Ken Burn's "Civil War" documentary, and set to work. 5hrs later, I had not only a more in depth knowledge of the Civil War but also, close to 5 yards of ribbon!
It should hold me over for a while! If not, I still have some scraps left.
