  • Custom Orders and Craft Shows

This year is shaping up to be a tough year for handmakers. First, there was the closing of The Switch House and Studio 116 (the brick-and-morter stores that sold my wares), and then last week I found out that the only craft show I was planning on attending this year, The Sidewalk Art Stroll, has been cancelled.

So, I've been focusing on custom orders and testing some new patterns.

My cousin Stephanie recently gave birth to her 2nd daughter, Isla. I made her a green snail, reversable (and machine-washable) bib.

My lovely friend Debra's birthday was in February, but due to a plumbing mishap and my heater deciding to quit working during a snow storm, I've been unable to get in my studio to make her present until last week. Since I haven't given her her present, I can only show a sneak peak.

I am in need of new potholders, expecially with all the baking that I do. I've been playing around with some new patterns and, so far, this one is my favorite. Its a log-cabin-y hexagon! The ones in the picture were a birthday gift for another lovely friend, Kristi.

My most recent custom project was a Dr.Who themed diaper bag! I hope they enjoy it as much as I did making it. The exterior bottle pockets and interior are a light gray fabric with small concentric circles that reminded me of the inside of the TARDIS.

  • Merry All The Way

Its that time again! Do you think Aunt Margret would love a clutch, but only if it had purple elephants on it? Or that cousin Jim's new baby would look adorable in a Christmas themed baby apron? Send me a message! I'm now accepting custom orders for Christmas. Sadly, I cannot take any orders after December 15th so that I can insure that you'll get your items before Christmas.

And don't forget to get a stocking! They come in 2 sizes: Large (approx. 18") are $20 and the Small (approx. 12") are $15.

I'm making my husband and I two of the large ones and our dogs the small ones! Keep an eye on Instagram! I'll be posting pictures of them and everything else I make for Christmas!

And don't forget that you can take 30% off your purchase (thorugh 12/6) with the coupon code BLACKFRIDAY2014

  • 2015 Calendar

Every year my mom and I swap calendars at Christmas. A few years ago, I started designing and making the calendar that I give my mother.

This year's calendar features the different zodiac star constellations on a two-tone blue background.

The inspiration for the style of this year's calendar came from the illustrations in Two Dots game. Not only is game fun (who knew connect the dots could be so fun!), but its absolutely gorgeous. It features simple illustrations that are shaded on one half.  Since I've started playing this game, I've filled my sketchbook with drawings done in this style.

Calendars are $13 each! You can find them in my shop here.

  • The Many Uses for Folded Wallets

These wallets are probably my favorite thing in my shop right now. They're so versitile! I keep coming up with new uses for them. Here are a few of my favorite uses for them.

    1. Business card holder - This is the original use for these. I was having issues with finding a business card case that I liked, so I created my own. I can fit around 16 of my thick business cards in one and its small enough to fit in my pocket for when I go to events.

    2. Gift card holder - I have a ton of siblings, so I normally resort to giving gift cards to them for Christmas and birthdays. I normally don't like the flimsy cardboard holders that come with gift cards. I've started placing them in the Folded Wallets. I've found that its a more personal touch and they get a 2nd gift!

    3. Wallet - This has become my favorite use. Most of the time I don't carry a purse with me, so the Folded Wallets are perfect. They'll hold a few cards, some cash, and my ID and it fits snuggly in my back pocket!

    4. iPod Nano case - This use was discovered during one of my many brief stints in a gym. I kept loosing my iPod in my gym bag; my headphones would end up tangled; so I started using a Folded Wallet to transport them.

    5. Tea wallet - I just discovered this use the other day. I drink a LOT of tea as work. I prefer loose leaf, but typically have at least one pre-made tea bag and honey pack in my purse at any given time. Keeping the wallet helps cut down on the chances that the tea is going to squished in my purse!

Find all of my wallets here. What do you use your wallet for? I'd love to hear some new ideas!
